Remember when chambray was just called denim?
I wore all sorts of denim when I was a kid. One of my favorite outfits was comprised of a light pink floral denim skirt with a light pink denim button-down top, complete with sheer sleeves and skirt-matching cuffs and collar. Let me tell you something about that outfit: it was the height of fashion. I planned to wear it to my 9th birthday party. Sadly, it had to be postponed thanks to a blizzard. Considering the weather, it’s probably a good thing I wasn’t out wearing a denim skirt.
This shirt makes me feel really cool. You probably think denim is kind of casual, but I love that I can pair it with just about anything in my closet and feel put-together. Paired with this pretty, frilly skirt and I am definitely ready for the office. Which is why I’m adding this to my list of business-casual must-haves.
Needless to say, I am thrilled that
denim chambray is back in style.

I took these photos on a teleworking day late last month. It was dreary and cool and while this yummy chicken noodle soup cooked away in the crock pot, I just wanted to cozy up inside with this sweater and scarf combo.

I feel like I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect booties for-ev-errrrr. Well, my search finally came to a very satisfying end on Friday when I scooped these up at DSW.
Here are some of my favorite booties from around the web. What do you think? Do you see booties in your fashion future?

Today while I was taking photos, a landscaper dude stopped and asked me if I was taking pictures. Yup, I replied. He gave me a curious look and asked me what I was taking photos of. I wish I had the camera pointed at him to capture the look he gave me when I told him I was taking photos of my clothes. For a blog.

Happy Friday everyone! I work from home a couple days a week, so I actually get to have more than just casual Fridays. Most of the time those teleworking days are really casual. As in, I don’t get dressed. All day. I actually decided to get dressed today. I couldn’t be bothered to put on even a stitch of makeup, but at least I changed out of my PJs. One step at a time.

You know those days when it’s sweltering hot and you want noting more than to lay in front of your air conditioning all day and never go outside, but you have to because the errands aren’t going to run themselves? This was one of those days.
I wore this on one random teleworking day last month. I had to run some errands at lunchtime and had class in the evening, so getting dressed was actually required. This outfit was perfect. My flowy, satin tank kept me cool, my awesome new hat (read: scored it for $11 on Amazon!) kept the sun off my face and my scarf made me feel put-together. Check and mate.
Hope you have a lovely Independence Day and a superb long weekend.

My mom gave me these boots for my birthday back in January and I absolutely adore them. I usually just wear my pants tucked into the boots, but I got a pair of wool socks for walking the dogs in the cold and liked the way they looked peeking out of the tops. These boots are kind of out of my comfort zone, but I’m really happy to have them and I’m excited to see how many different ways I can remix them!
