This is a really old dress. Liiiike 10 years old. At least. The top is a little risque at this point in my life, but I really love the lace pattern, so I found a new way to wear it–layered under a sweater. I love to layer dresses and I do it pretty regularly, particularly when the weather cools down. Just think: you can wear a dress alone, under a sweater or over a button-down. Three outfits from one piece of clothing. Holla!
Come to think of it, I might cut this dress in half and just make it into a skirt.
Dress: Can't remember--old!
Royal blue is probably my favorite color. Next to purple, that is. Something about this jewel-toned hue just draws me in. I loved this shirt the second I saw it in TJ Maxx. From the soft, flowy fabric to the buttons to the contrasting shoulders, this top had me at
hello first glance. Paired with my pretty lace skirt and I’m feeling very regal today.

When I think of white lace, I usually think of wedding gowns. I can’t imagine I’m alone on that train. That was until I found this skirt last year at H&M. The cut is modern and pairing it with rich coral and black make it look really playful and pretty. Plus, it’s light-weight and breezy. Perfect for these hot, summer why-do-I-have-to-go-to-work days.
Speaking of summer and work, let’s talk about summer vacation. Remember how excited you used to get when we were kids and the last day of school was finally here? Then it was three months of sleeping in, hanging out at the pool and maybe doing summer reading (aka waiting until the last minute and then desperately trying to find the Cliff’s Notes version of whatever it was you were supposed to read). Ah, I could really use a 3 month hiatus from work…but definitely get paid the whole time. I promise to read every day. That seems fair, right?
