My colleague gave me these pants. I was really excited to get them because they’re very nice, but when I got them they were flared. I don’t wear a whole lot of flared pants, so I took these in at the bottom and love how they turned out.

I don’t think I ever would have worn this color-combination before I started blogging. Red and blue together are generally a little too…4th of July for my taste. However, this deep burgundy paired with my navy blazer and (new!) shiny leggings makes me think of fall. I love the rich hues together and this is definitely one I’ll wear again!
I also wanted to give a quick shout-out to my hubby. Today is his birthday! So, happy birthday, toots. Love you STG! 😉

I went thrifting with a friend last month and as soon as I saw this skirt, I had to have it. I am completely obsessed with anything black and white recently (check my closet if you don’t believe me) and I could think of several different ways to wear it off the top of my head. Unfortunately, I do have to iron it to keep the pleats looking fresh, but I think it’s worth it.
I am so excited to remix this little beauty.

I felt a little Parisian and a lot cool in this outfit today. This was another shirt I got from this friend. You can’t really tell in the photos, but the red stripes are a little sparkly. I wasn’t sure about it at first because I felt like it was kind of Holiday-ish, but I’m glad I took a chance on it.

There is a Nordstrom Rack within walking distance to my work. One of my coworkers and I head over about once a month and I have been gravitating towards the maxi dresses like crazy recently. In fact, I have this exact dress in two colors. There’s just something so easy about maxi dresses. With relatively little effort–I mean, hello? You don’t even have to shave your legs!–you look spot-on. Plus, they transition really easily from day to night.
The only downside is this one is dry-clean only…Since it’s a cotton/spandex dress, that translates to a gentle wash in cold water and a hang dry. I’m such a rule-breaker.

I swear I washed this shirt between wears. These photos were taken during our recent vacation to Lake Anna, VA. It was so beautiful. The house we stayed in was on an acre of land right on the lake. When we got up early enough, we got to see gorgeous sunrises, the water was warm enough to swim in and overall we had an extremely fun and relaxing time. How do you spend your summer? Do you have any vacation plans this season?

Is it bad that I bought this sweater with the intention of wearing it with this shirt? This shirt. I’ve had it for years, but I struggle with it because it’s one of those shirts you actually have to iron after you wash it. And I’m one of those people who hates ironing. Last night something came over me and I pulled out the iron and was rewarded with a mostly (I hate ironing, remember?) wrinkle-free top. Paired it with some wedges I’ve had since high school and some cords I got about 4 years ago and there you have it! Old is new.
